Sustainability - Mango Wood

Grown on plantations for their delectable fruit, the mango tree grows to a huge 20-30 meter height. After about 20 years a Mango tree’s fruit production ability decreases and mature trees are replaced with younger saplings. Originally the mature trees were discarded or burnt, adding to carbon emissions. These days the timber is re-purposed and prized for it’s beautiful, rich grain and strength and durability.

We love knowing that our Mango tree has lived a full life and been responsible for endless happy ‘Mango filled tummies’ before being re-crafted into our beautiful hardwood furniture.
